alibaba's qoder says it hit 6m users and 100k enterprises in one year, upgrading from coding ide to agent workbench. the editor-as-agent transition is already a distribution story, not a demo.
the fastest-growing coding tools now ship a workbench, not a keymap.
Context
AIbase, dated 28 August 2026, says Alibaba launched the new Qoder on 27 August and that since the global release of Qoder IDE in August 2025 it has accumulated more than 6 million users and served over 100,000 enterprises. Alibaba Cloud's post of 16 June 2026 introduces Qoder 1.0 as an Autonomous Development Desktop, and a search excerpt of it says more than 5 million users worldwide at that time.
The 6 million and 100,000 figures are Alibaba's claim relayed by an aggregator, and the same sentence was not found on an Alibaba first-party page. Users is a count accumulated since August 2025, with registrations or downloads versus active users not defined, and enterprises served is undefined. Growth from 5 million to 6 million is consistent but is not an interval measurement. Not independently verified.
