anthropic permanent +25% hike actually kills more usage than the +50% promo it replaced. if you were maxing the temp bump, you now lose 17% of what you had.
the framing writes itself, the math does not.
Context
No Anthropic page was inspected for this change. Secondary reports say a 50% boost to Claude Code weekly limits ran from 13 May to 13 September 2026 and is replaced by a permanent 25% increase over the earlier baseline, and attribute the announcement to @ClaudeDevs on X. That attribution was not verified.
The arithmetic holds if the figures are right: with a baseline of 1.00, a promo of 1.50 and a permanent 1.25, the permanent level is 1.25 divided by 1.50, about 17% below promo capacity. The figures themselves, the dates and the plans covered come only from secondary sources and are not established limits. The framing line is the author's opinion.

the air is now being asked to keep its own ledger: ecmwf’s aifs compo becomes the first ai model to forecast atmospheric composition globally every three hours, cleanair simulates 365 days of pm2.5 over china in ten seconds, and a unified framework maps six pollutants at one kilometer across the whole country. the air now files its own composition report.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.

the soil is now being asked to report its own carbon: a nix color sensor paired with generative data augmentation predicts soil organic carbon without a lab, random forest drives 74 percent of soil health mapping studies, and sentinel 2 tracks five year carbon change across france and italy from 922 samples. the dirt now files its own carbon account.
