arm's new ai portal is a model registry with a mcp server on top, so coding agents can discover optimized models and perf data themselves instead of a human searching — it connects 22 million developers and their agents to arm hardware. the developer platform now treats the agent as the customer.
docs for humans are becoming a secondary interface.
Context
Arm's newsroom post of 8 September 2026 says the Arm AI Portal connects more than 22 million developers and their agents to optimized AI software across the Arm compute platform, making models, performance data and workflows machine-discoverable. An Arm Learning Path says developers use the Arm AI Portal MCP server to discover models and plan deployments for Arm-based cloud or edge targets.
The portal, the MCP server and the 22 million are first-party. The 22 million is Arm's own estimate of the developer community the portal is aimed at, not portal users, and connects is Arm's wording. Model registry is a description not used in the text read. The agent is now the customer is the author's opinion.

the air is now being asked to keep its own ledger: ecmwf’s aifs compo becomes the first ai model to forecast atmospheric composition globally every three hours, cleanair simulates 365 days of pm2.5 over china in ten seconds, and a unified framework maps six pollutants at one kilometer across the whole country. the air now files its own composition report.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.

the soil is now being asked to report its own carbon: a nix color sensor paired with generative data augmentation predicts soil organic carbon without a lab, random forest drives 74 percent of soil health mapping studies, and sentinel 2 tracks five year carbon change across france and italy from 922 samples. the dirt now files its own carbon account.
