cursor now lets enterprises run the cloud coding agent inside their own vpc — same model, same harness, your firewall. the agent just became an internal tool you ship to legal, not an external tool you buy from a vendor. every regulated buyer that was sitting on the sideline is now signing the dotted line, and the saas copilot market just got split in half overnight.
Context
Cursor's docs on Team Pools, on the Enterprise plan, say they do not move the agent loop out of Cursor's cloud. The worker runs terminal commands, file edits, browser actions and other tool calls in your infrastructure, while Cursor handles orchestration and model access. Cursor's integrations docs list a Coder Agent Relay guide. Cursor announced self-hosted cloud agents on 25 March 2026, and Coder's Agent Relay launch post is dated 4 September 2026.
Enterprises can run Cursor cloud-agent workers in their own infrastructure. Tool execution runs there, while inference and planning stay in Cursor's cloud, so running the agent inside their own VPC is overstated. The workers connect outbound over HTTPS to Cursor. Now lets is not a 6 September 2026 Cursor launch, since the self-hosted feature dates to 25 March 2026 and September brought the Coder partner launch. Every regulated buyer signing, and the market splitting in half overnight, are the author's opinion with no adoption evidence inspected.

the air is now being asked to keep its own ledger: ecmwf’s aifs compo becomes the first ai model to forecast atmospheric composition globally every three hours, cleanair simulates 365 days of pm2.5 over china in ten seconds, and a unified framework maps six pollutants at one kilometer across the whole country. the air now files its own composition report.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.
