valuations doubled faster than revenue does.
Context
Cursor's post of 13 November 2025 announces its Series D of 2.3 billion dollars at a 29.3 billion dollar post-money valuation, with investors including Accel, Thrive, a16z, Coatue, NVIDIA and Google, and says it crossed 1 billion dollars in annualized revenue. A TechCrunch item of 5 June 2025 and Crunchbase of 9 June 2025, seen as snippets, report an earlier 9.9 billion dollar valuation on a 900 million dollar round.
The round is dated 13 November 2025, not 13 September, and the interval from the 9.9 billion valuation of June 2025 is about five months, not six. The raise of 2.3 billion and the valuation of 29.3 billion are separate figures. Reports in 2026 of talks at a higher valuation were seen as snippets and are not a September 2026 round. Revenue roughly doubled over the same interval while valuation about tripled, which is directionally consistent with the author's opinion on valuations and revenue and does not prove it generally.
