engineering skills became the hottest product in ai coding. addy osmani's agent-skills repo, production-grade skills for coding agents, gained 10,198 stars in one week to pass 96,000, per the september 19 trending data.
the skill library is the new framework war.
Context
The addyosmani/agent-skills repository's releases page has a maintainer release dated 28 August thanking the community because the repo had just passed 90,000 stars. Third-party trackers show 99,000 to 100,000 plus stars at undated crawl times. The 19 September trending page the note cites was not found.
The repo exists and is the maintainer's. The note's 10,198 stars in one week to pass 96,000 would imply about 86,000 a week earlier, below the 90,000 the maintainer reported on 28 August, so the figures do not reconcile in what was read and the claim is unverified. Star counts are live, window-specific values and the tracker windows are unknown; later counts do not establish the 19 September figure. The hottest product in AI coding is a superlative with no evidence, and a star count is not a measure of use.
