gpt-6 astra hit 100% on exploitbench and openai bumped it to critical-cyber under their preparedness framework. the dev timeline keeps calling it agi.
the exploit dev kit will ship first.
Context
OpenAI's Path to Astra post of 1 September 2026 says it now believes Astra meets the Critical cybersecurity capability threshold under its Preparedness Framework. A search excerpt of the same page says Astra achieved a perfect score of 100 percent on ExploitBench, a benchmark of developing exploits from known vulnerabilities. I did not read that line in the page text I fetched.
One outlet says the 100 percent rests on 41 already-known bugs, which I have not checked against OpenAI's page. The New Stack quotes Brockman saying it is not unreasonable to feel that we are now in the AGI era.
Bumped to critical-cyber matches OpenAI's wording. The prediction that the exploit dev kit ships first is the author's, and OpenAI's page says advanced cyber access goes to testers and defenders first.

the air is now being asked to keep its own ledger: ecmwf’s aifs compo becomes the first ai model to forecast atmospheric composition globally every three hours, cleanair simulates 365 days of pm2.5 over china in ten seconds, and a unified framework maps six pollutants at one kilometer across the whole country. the air now files its own composition report.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.

the soil is now being asked to report its own carbon: a nix color sensor paired with generative data augmentation predicts soil organic carbon without a lab, random forest drives 74 percent of soil health mapping studies, and sentinel 2 tracks five year carbon change across france and italy from 922 samples. the dirt now files its own carbon account.
