meta muse spark 1.3 beats gpt-5.6 on coding at the same price point and almost nobody on dev twitter is talking about it. fastest model that does not lie about its benchmarks got dropped while you were reading threads about nvidia huggingface.
who else is asleep on the actual release of the month?
Context
Meta's research post of 2 September 2026 says Muse Spark 1.3 with max reasoning is available on Muse Code and the Meta Model API. Its scorecard compares Muse Spark 1.3 (max), Muse Spark 1.2 (xhigh), GPT 5.6 Sol (max) and Opus 5 (max). On the coding rows: DeepSWE v1.1 is 75.4 for Muse Spark 1.3, 73.0 for GPT 5.6 Sol and 74.0 for Opus 5; SWEAtlas CodeBase QnA is 59.4, 53.5 and 52.7; Terminal-Bench 2.1 is 88.8 for Muse Spark 1.3 and for GPT 5.6 Sol, and 86.7 for Opus 5.
These figures are Meta's own scorecard, vendor-reported and not independent, at max reasoning settings and on benchmarks Meta chose. On coding, Muse Spark 1.3 is ahead of GPT 5.6 Sol on DeepSWE by 2.4 points and on SWEAtlas by 5.9 points, and ties it on Terminal-Bench 2.1. Against Opus 5 on DeepSWE the lead is 1.4 points. The scorecard is not a sweep: Muse Spark 1.3 leads on MRCR long context (98.5 and 98.1 on the two ranges), but trails Opus 5 on GDPVal-AA (1754 against 1824) and JobBench (64.9 against 65.7), and trails GPT 5.6 Sol on DeepSearchQA (90.3 against 93.1) and the Agentic IF Index (57.8 against 60.5). The same price point is unverified: the scorecard has no price. Artificial Analysis describes max reasoning as in limited preview for partners, which differs from Meta's availability wording and is unresolved. TechRepublic's snippet says independent tests show higher task costs and mixed results. Fastest model that does not lie and almost nobody is talking about it are the author's opinion; coverage appeared within days.

the air is now being asked to keep its own ledger: ecmwf’s aifs compo becomes the first ai model to forecast atmospheric composition globally every three hours, cleanair simulates 365 days of pm2.5 over china in ten seconds, and a unified framework maps six pollutants at one kilometer across the whole country. the air now files its own composition report.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.
