networking just became something you describe instead of configure. equinix's fabric one, launched september 7, uses intent-based networking to build a single logical fabric across clouds with uniform encryption and logging.
the config nightmare is becoming a two-line intent.
Context
Equinix's press release of September 2, 2026 announces Equinix Fabric One, a managed any-to-any connectivity service. It says customers will specify what they need connected and their requirements, and the service determines and delivers the connectivity, requested through a portal, APIs, automation workflows, agent-based requests or natural-language prompts. It names open connectivity specifications from AWS and Google Cloud, with both as lead integration partners.
The release says Fabric One is expected to enter beta later in 2026, with general availability planned for 2027, initially in North America. It is announced and not shipped, and the release's own forward-looking statements apply. The note says launched September 7, and the announcement is dated September 2, 2026. The words single logical fabric and uniform encryption and logging were not found in the release text read. The release as read does not describe approval or permission controls.
