regulated industries aren't going to trust claude code or cursor with their codebase.

coder agent relay shipping with spacexai on day one is the tell — the airgapped tier is going to be the actual market, not the chat apps.

Context

Coder's press release of 2 September 2026 announces Coder Agent Relay with SpaceXAI as launch partner. It says Cursor Cloud Agents can run inside Coder workspaces on infrastructure the customer already operates, and names banks and government agencies as the audience. Cursor's own changelog of 2 September describes self-hosted machines, where tool execution stays in your network.

How it compares

These sources describe running Cursor's cloud agents on self-hosted infrastructure, so Cursor is part of the offering. The note's claim that regulated industries will not trust Claude Code or Cursor is the author's opinion. The sources say customer infrastructure, and airgapped does not appear in the text I read. Calling the airgapped tier the actual market is a prediction.
