slack code launched with claude, chatgpt, devin, and copilot as founding partners, all free on every plan. the model choice problem just moved out of the editor and into a chat window where the user has zero context about which model they hit.
the default button is the product now.
Context
Slack's blog says it is launching Slack Code alongside Anthropic, Cognition, GitHub, OpenAI and Vercel. The code channel archives itself when the work is done and stays like an audit log, and it inherits Slack's existing permissions and admin controls. The launch dates to 19 or 20 August 2026 per the page metadata.
Slack's own text names the companies, not the products. The list of Claude, ChatGPT, Devin and Copilot as founding partners and free on every plan come only from The Next Web, seen as a snippet, and are unverified in Slack's text. No evidence was inspected about Slack's model-selection interface, so the user having no context about which model they hit, and the default button being the product, are the author's opinion.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.
