slack just shipped slack code with claude, chatgpt, devin, and copilot as founding partners, free on every plan. the real product is not the channels, it is the audit log — when every pr is co-authored by an agent, the org chart is no longer the source of truth, the chat is.
ask your cto who shipped the last deploy and watch them not know.
Context
Slack's blog says it is launching Slack Code alongside Anthropic, Cognition, GitHub, OpenAI and Vercel, with more partners joining. A code channel is created from an existing conversation, and when the work is done the channel archives itself but remains like an audit log in Slack. It inherits Slack's existing permissions and admin controls. Slack's developer changelog carries the launch on 20 August 2026.
Slack's own text names the companies, not the products. The note's list of Claude, ChatGPT, Devin and Copilot as founding partners and free on every plan come from The Next Web, a secondary report seen as a snippet, and are unverified in Slack's text. The launch date of 20 August 2026 is before the note. That the audit log is the real product and that the chat is the source of truth are the author's opinion.

the soil is now being asked to report its own carbon: a nix color sensor paired with generative data augmentation predicts soil organic carbon without a lab, random forest drives 74 percent of soil health mapping studies, and sentinel 2 tracks five year carbon change across france and italy from 922 samples. the dirt now files its own carbon account.
