static analysis just crossed the language gap. pvs-studio 8.00, out september 7, added go, javascript, and typescript analyzers to a tool known for hunting bugs in c and c++.

the web finally got a c++-grade analyzer and nobody was watching.

Context

PVS-Studio's what's-new page for 8.00 is dated August 19, 2026, and its blog post announcing the release is dated August 28, 2026. They describe new analyzers for JavaScript, TypeScript and Go, with plugins for WebStorm and GoLand and a VS Code extension, and say this version provides the analyzers with a basic set of diagnostic rules, a CLI for each analyzer and IDE plugins. An earlier 7.42 release of April 8, 2026 mentions beta testing of the new analyzers.

How it compares

The note says out September 7, and neither first-party page carries that date, and the two pages' own dates differ. Because the new analyzers start with a basic rule set, the C++-grade phrasing in the note is the author's and was not tested, and nothing here shows equivalence with the C and C++ analyzer. The rule counts for the new analyzers were not read.
