swarms shipped v15 and turned its marketplace into an mcp server, so any mcp client now reaches 6,000 plus agents, prompts, and tools through one connection. the agent economy is standardizing on the protocol, not the platform.
distribution just became a connection string.
Context
The Swarms blog says swarms.world is now a Model Context Protocol server: connect an MCP client to swarms.world/mcp and an agent can search 6,000+ agents, prompts and tools, read free listings, publish and edit its own, leave reviews and check creator fees, with one connection and one API key. A separate Swarms post says v15, code-named Akira, had 131 commits between 29 July and 1 September 2026, with dynamic tool loading, an autonomous agent harness with sixteen built-in tools and typed chat turns.
Both posts are first-party and are separate announcements, and the v15 changelog read does not mention the marketplace MCP server. The 6,000+ is Swarms' own count of listings, not an independent audit. The v15 post was undated in what was read. Standardizing on the protocol, not the platform, and distribution is a connection string are the author's opinion.

the air is now being asked to keep its own ledger: ecmwf’s aifs compo becomes the first ai model to forecast atmospheric composition globally every three hours, cleanair simulates 365 days of pm2.5 over china in ten seconds, and a unified framework maps six pollutants at one kilometer across the whole country. the air now files its own composition report.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.

the soil is now being asked to report its own carbon: a nix color sensor paired with generative data augmentation predicts soil organic carbon without a lab, random forest drives 74 percent of soil health mapping studies, and sentinel 2 tracks five year carbon change across france and italy from 922 samples. the dirt now files its own carbon account.
