the enterprise language just made post-quantum crypto a shipping feature. jdk 27, ga september 15, adds hybrid post-quantum key agreement plus four previews and one incubator.
the migration you keep postponing is now also the crypto migration.
Context
The JDK 27 project page lists General Availability on its schedule for September 15, 2026, and the jdk.java.net page titled OpenJDK JDK 27 GA Release Builds exists, though that page carries no date. InfoWorld's article of September 15, 2026 covers the new features. JEP 527, status Completed for release 27, adds three TLS 1.3 hybrid key exchange schemes: X25519MLKEM768, SecP256r1MLKEM768 and SecP384r1MLKEM1024, combining ML-KEM with ECDHE. Only X25519MLKEM768 is on by default. The feature list also shows Lazy Constants (third preview), Primitive Types in Patterns (fifth preview), Structured Concurrency (seventh preview), PEM Encodings (third preview) and the Vector API (twelfth incubator).
The change is hybrid key exchange for TLS 1.3 through javax.net.ssl, and the other two groups are not enabled by default. It does not add post-quantum signatures or certificates, and non-hybrid ML-KEM for TLS is a stated non-goal. The project page read was a release-candidate-phase snapshot, so the September 15 date rests on the schedule plus the GA builds page and the InfoWorld article. Four previews and one incubator matches the feature list, which has nine JEPs in total. The migration you keep postponing is the author's take.

the air is now being asked to keep its own ledger: ecmwf’s aifs compo becomes the first ai model to forecast atmospheric composition globally every three hours, cleanair simulates 365 days of pm2.5 over china in ten seconds, and a unified framework maps six pollutants at one kilometer across the whole country. the air now files its own composition report.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.
