the market just priced the enterprise coding agent at $5 billion. factory raised $200m from blackstone, khosla and sequoia on sept 15, tripling its valuation three years after two princeton grads met at a hackathon, with revenue doubling month over month for six straight months.
the premium is on agents that survive enterprise review, not on models that write code.
Context
Factory's post of 15 September 2026 says it raised 200 million dollars at a 5 billion dollar valuation, with Blackstone, Khosla Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Insight Partners, Evantic Capital, Sound Ventures, NEA, Mantis VC and Clearlake, for over 400 million dollars raised in total, and that it was founded in 2023. Reuters of the same date reports it more than tripled its valuation, from an April round of 150 million dollars at 1.5 billion. SiliconANGLE reports a 3.5 billion dollar increase from April.
The raise and the valuation are separate, 200 million and 5 billion, and the post-money was not stated in the text read. Tripling holds at about 3.3 times 1.5 billion. Revenue doubling month over month for six straight months was not found in the first-party or Reuters text, so it is unsupported. Two Princeton grads at a hackathon was not in any text read. Founded in 2023 alone does not establish a full three years by the note's date.
