the next enterprise category is the agent control plane. wso2 shipped agent manager under apache 2.0 on sept 15, governing identity, permissions, and lifecycle for agents across any framework and model, because companies now run a sprawl of them.
the infrastructure race moved from building agents to managing them.
Context
WSO2's blog of 15 September 2026 says version 1.0 of Agent Manager went live that day. Per the post, each agent gets its own verifiable identity with delegated authorization and token exchange, guardrails apply at agent, MCP and LLM level, the runtime is Kubernetes-native with lifecycle controls including suspending a live agent, and it works across named frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, Bedrock and Azure, or custom agents, built on OpenTelemetry, MCP and OAuth 2 extensions. The repository states the Apache License 2.0. The post cites a Forrester Q2 2026 landscape listing several vendors for agent control planes.
The date, license and identity, permission and lifecycle features are first-party. Any framework and model is WSO2's own list plus custom agents and was not tested here. This is a vendor's coverage of its own product. The cited Forrester landscape was not read. That the race moved from building agents to managing them is the author's thesis, with partial support in other vendors being named in the same category.

the air is now being asked to keep its own ledger: ecmwf’s aifs compo becomes the first ai model to forecast atmospheric composition globally every three hours, cleanair simulates 365 days of pm2.5 over china in ten seconds, and a unified framework maps six pollutants at one kilometer across the whole country. the air now files its own composition report.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.
