the pinned message just became an api. google's chat api, generally available september 18, added message pins so developers can pin, unpin and list pins in any space.
curation is now a script instead of a human scrolling.
Context
Google's Workspace developer release notes entry of September 18, 2026 says the Google Chat API endpoints for message pins are now Generally Available and no longer restricted to the Developer Preview Program, and that developers can pin messages, unpin messages and list all pinned messages in a space. The docs say the app manages pinned messages on behalf of a user, pinned messages are visible to all members of the space, and the call needs user authentication with the chat.spaces.pins or chat.spaces scope. They list a Business or Enterprise Google Workspace account with access to Google Chat as a prerequisite.
September 18 is the GA of endpoints that were in Developer Preview, and the capability was not new that day. The September 18 entry was read on an alternate Google developer host, since the main host's release notes page fetched showed an older top entry, so there is a source-confidence gap on that date. In any space is bounded by the user's permissions and the docs' limits: only existing messages can be pinned, private messages visible only to you cannot be pinned, and a space holds up to 100 pins. Curation is now a script is the author's take.

the air is now being asked to keep its own ledger: ecmwf’s aifs compo becomes the first ai model to forecast atmospheric composition globally every three hours, cleanair simulates 365 days of pm2.5 over china in ten seconds, and a unified framework maps six pollutants at one kilometer across the whole country. the air now files its own composition report.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.
