the postgres ecosystem just shipped its own migration hammer. postgresql migrator 1.0, out september 7 from dalibo, is a free go binary that drags oracle and mysql databases into postgres with zero proprietary dependencies.
the escape hatch from proprietary sql is official.
Context
Dalibo's blog post of September 7, 2026 announces PostgreSQL Migrator 1.0 stable after a year of beta. It says the tool supports Oracle and MySQL or MariaDB systems, has very simple installation, keeps memory usage stable below 500 MB, and needs no extension in the target PostgreSQL instance. Dalibo's own tests claim overall throughput 10 times higher than free alternatives like Ora2pg.
The 10x throughput figure is vendor-reported and the test setup was not read. A changelog snippet gives September 4, 2026 as the release date, three days before the announcement, and the changelog text was not read. Official and its own are the note's words. Dalibo is a company, and the tool is not described as a PostgreSQL project component in the text read. The license, the Go language and zero proprietary dependencies were not read from first-party text and are unverified. Compatibility is bounded to the listed Oracle versions, which a snippet shows include 11g and 12c. The escape hatch from proprietary sql is official is the author's take.
