the top of github trending this week is all agent harness code. deepseek-harness at #1, superpowers +3.4k stars, mattpocock/skills +10.1k. the model is becoming the boring part.
the harness is the moat.
Context
The deepseek-harness repository showed 212,481 stars when read, obra/superpowers 280,820 and mattpocock/skills 247,112. A mer.vin report dated 6 September 2026 puts mattpocock/skills at number 2 on the daily trending list with 2,206 stars in 24 hours. A Pillitteri article dated 17 August 2026 says deepseek-harness passed 141,532 stars in four days.
The number 1 rank for deepseek-harness and the claim that the top of trending is all agent harness code are unverified: no dated trending history for 30 August to 6 September 2026 was inspected, and the star totals are later figures. The plus 3.4k and plus 10.1k weekly gains have no inspected weekly data, and a one-day 2,206 is not a week. A top10.dev article dated 3 October 2026 covers a different week. That the harness is the moat and the model is becoming the boring part are the author's opinion.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.
