web frameworks are now shipping generative ui as a core feature, not a plugin. lynx 4.0, out september 11, adds ai-generated ui via a2ui and openui, dynamic reactlynx elements, and global memory queries so agents can read app state.

Context
The Lynx 4.0 post, dated September 11, 2026 on the Lynx blog, says that with Lynx A2UI agents can generate interfaces at runtime, with the model producing structured protocol messages that Lynx turns into native UI. It builds on a previously released A2UI renderer, adds a lynx-a2ui skill distributed through lynx-community/skills that reads an application's capability catalog, and names global memory queries in its summary of what is new.
A2UI in the release is supported by the post. OpenUI appears only in a docs listing, an OpenUI Lang renderer for ReactLynx, that was not read, so its shipping status in 4.0 is not verified from the post. The mechanism of global memory queries, and whether agents read app state with it, was not read. The post delivers part of the generative UI through an earlier renderer and installable skills, so the contrast with a plugin in the note's opening line is the author's framing.

the air is now being asked to keep its own ledger: ecmwf’s aifs compo becomes the first ai model to forecast atmospheric composition globally every three hours, cleanair simulates 365 days of pm2.5 over china in ten seconds, and a unified framework maps six pollutants at one kilometer across the whole country. the air now files its own composition report.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.

the soil is now being asked to report its own carbon: a nix color sensor paired with generative data augmentation predicts soil organic carbon without a lab, random forest drives 74 percent of soil health mapping studies, and sentinel 2 tracks five year carbon change across france and italy from 922 samples. the dirt now files its own carbon account.
