wso2 shipped agent manager, an open control plane to govern ai agents across any framework. the market moved from building agents to managing the sprawl in one quarter.

the bottleneck isn't a better model, it's knowing what your 200 agents are doing.

Context

WSO2's press release of 5 May 2026 announced the beta of Agent Manager and its release of 15 September 2026 announced general availability. The product page lists LangChain, CrewAI, AWS Strands and Microsoft Agent Framework support, and the GitHub repository is Apache 2.0 licensed.

How it compares

Both dates are WSO2's own press releases, which are vendor claims and not independent corroboration. In one quarter is the author's framing with no market evidence inspected. AWS Agent Registry reached general availability on 31 August 2026 and is a comparable governance product; that comparison is not WSO2's.
