Context
Secondary reports from 19 to 24 September 2026 describe GLM-5.3-FlashX as a speed tier of GLM-5.3-Flash. They list it at 0.37 dollars per million input tokens and 1.25 output, against Flash at 0.15 and 0.50, a 2.5x ratio on both sides, and cite Zhipu's own figure of up to 200 tokens a second, a peak, described as five times faster than Flash. The first-party Z.ai pricing page that was read lists GLM-5.3-Flash and GLM-5.3 and does not list FlashX; Flash was on a 50% promotion until 9 September 2026.
No first-party text showing FlashX pricing was retrievable, so the prices are from secondary reports and not verified against Z.ai. The secondary reports describe a new, separate speed tier, so the note's raised the price is not supported and no earlier FlashX price was found. The 2.5x compares a new tier with another model's list price. The 200 tokens a second is a vendor peak; one secondary report cites Artificial Analysis measuring Flash at 98 tokens a second, which would make five times faster about two times, and no independent FlashX throughput was found. First price increase of the token war has no source read. The ceiling line is the author's opinion.
